They were each other’s support and in an interview, Shahid even said that though they share very different personalities, they fill each other’s empty spaces well. Fans from everywhere were rooting for them to end up together because of how well they complemented each other. However, in 2007 the couple parted ways and chose different paths in life.

Shahid and Kareena last worked together in Jab We Met after which they broke up. No doubt, the news of the breakup shocked the entire nation, but what happened soon after this spread like wildfire. Kareena Kapoor fell in love with Saif Ali Khan on the sets of Tashan. This incident took place shortly after her breakup with Shahid. Kareena revealed that she was quite excited to work as the lead actress in Tashan and thought it would change her professional life forever. Who knew it would change her personal life too?
In an interview, Kareena said that it was Shahid who convinced her to take up the role of Geet in Jab We Met. He said that the female character is amazing and she should hear the script and give it a shot. She said that it was he who brought the project together and they ended up doing the film. Kareena plays the character of Geet, a bubbly and hyper Punjabi girl who meets Aditya, played by Shahid, on a train ride. The story is about how they get stuck with each other during the train ride and eventually get sucked into each other’s lives. A hilarious series of events occur during the movie and like any other Bollywood movie, Geet and Aditya fall in love in the end. Kareena Kapoor received a lot of appreciation for her acting. She also won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Actor in 2008. While Jab We Met changed her career, Tashan changed her personal life.

In an earlier interview, Kareena Kapoor opened up about how she fell head over heels in love with Saif. She revealed that during the shooting of Tashan, they would go on long bike rides for some alone time and enjoy the scenic beauty. She said that they would have great conversations and just bond.
