It was the first Monday of the May month yesterday y’ all, and guess what your favorite international celebs were busy doing? Well, to us it seems like they were busy studying “Notes on ‘Camp”, a seminal essay of Susan Sontag in preparation for the most awaited event of the year ranked next to Oscars, the Met Gala!

For those of you who have no idea about the Met Gala, it’s the annual fundraising gala formally called as the Costume Institute Gala which is conducted for the benefit of Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City. The theme of this year is the “nature camp,” this year’s Met Gala was all about humor, pastiche, exaggeration, artifice, irony, theatricality, and the most important element, fun! Met Gala 2019 saw the most diverse guest list right from our desi girl Priyanka Chopra Jonas to Jennifer Lopez marking their attendance and they all came in with incredible over-the-top fashionable looks. Here’s a list of the 8 most best-dressed celebs who we thought had the campiest of all looks in this Met Gala of 2019. Have a look.

1. Priyanka Chopra Jonas

Priyanka attended the Met Gala for the third time this year arriving with her husband Nick, hand-in-hand. She sported an exaggerated embellished feathered gown in Dior. Priyanka decided to go all fierce this year with a hairdo in afro-curls, but what caught everybody’s attention the most was her silver-frosted lashes and brows, her raspberry lips and eyeshadow. Every element of her look screamed bold. Her silver and pastel gown had a feathery cape and the look was topped off with a cage crown in silver. She sure did look like a godmother figure from an otherworldly universe.

2. Deepika Padukone

The reigning queen of Bollywood, Deepika Padukone wore a custom Zac Posen dress for the Met Gala event. The dress was a pink jacquard lurex gown that has Protolabs embroidery on it. She painted the carpet with retro vibes with her hairstyles in a bouffant and sealed with a metallic headband. Her stylist Shaheen Nathani introduces this look as “Camp Barbie” on Instagram. Oh boy, she looked better than Barbie, didn’t she?

3. Lady Gaga

She gave us not one, but four, yes four, Brandon Maxwell looks at this year’s Met Gala event. First one was a giant gown in pink that had a doll-like bow. The second was a strapless gown in black, the third one was a slip dress in hot pink teamed with a giant cell phone in hand, and the fourth was chic lingerie with sparkling tights. She shed her costumes one by one and donned them all like a boss. This playful look of hers also came with a wagon that had some champagne, dancers, umbrellas, and some flirty striptease too.

4. Kylie And Kendall Jenner

These two sisters wore Versace ensembles. And they definitely did not shy away from the event’s theme. They looked like a cross between Vegas showgirls and wicked stepsisters from Cinderella. Their orange and purple feathered gowns were perfectly coordinated. The sister duo clearly made a grand entrance.

5. Katy Perry

Like the millennials call it, Katy’s Met Gala look this year was “lit” but only quite literally. She was dressed in a chandelier-like-dress which was designed by Jeremy Scott and trust us, it was quite illuminating! Perry’s always maintained a reputation to leave behind a trademark every year and this year was no different. However, how Katy was able to sit for dinner at the event still remains a mystery to all of us (facepalm).

6. Celine Dion

When it came to the whackiest headwear at this year’s gala, this lady sure did top the list. She wore a glitzy ensemble which was constructed in 18 panels and weighs nearly 22 pounds. Her fringed metallic romper sure must have caught some attention but it was her spiky, towering headpiece that stole the show. Well, as we say, more is more!

7. Cardi B

She quite literally stopped the traffic at the gala by wearing a nearly ten feet of silk and tulle organza designed by Thom Browne. For a long time now, she’s been proving that her fashion prowess is complementary to her overweight fashion choices. Her matching headpiece took the entire look a notch higher. This woman sure is giving Met Gala MVPs like Rihanna and Lady Gaga a run for their money, don’t you think?

8. Lupita Nyong’o

This woman looked like a vision in her Versace outfit. We loved the maxi skirt which had pink stars all over it (girl power you see). And that neon top in rainbow hues and the matching fan bag, oh my, we love her! Her makeup complimented her outfit and the glided combs in her hair clearly made for one of the best hairstyles of the evening.

These were the standouts this year at Met Gala 2019, according to us. Who was your favorite? Let us know in the comment section below.
